SUP spot Wannsee lakeside promenade

The SUP spot Wannsee, close to the lakeside promenade and the Heckeshorn bathing area, is a centrally located place for beginners to try out stand up paddling. There is a Stand Up Wannsee SUP hire centre here, which also offers beginner courses to learn the technique. If you fancy a tour, you can paddle around the Pfaueninsel from here, for example.

The Großer Wannsee is actually a bay of the Havel and is around 2.5 kilometres long. Due to the transition into the Havel, you have a few more kilometres at your disposal on SUP tours, depending on the route.

The entrance consists mainly of sand, there are a few car parks around Heckeshorn and a bus stop on site. Beginners should bear in mind that the many motorboats can also bring smaller waves with them, which can make it a little wobbly.

For windsurfers, there is a windsurfing centre on the opposite shore. Wassersportcenter Berlin, which also offers SUP hire.
