SUP spot Steinhuder Meer near Steinhude

The SUP spot Steinhuder Sea is not only a great place for beginners to learn stand-up paddling, but is also ideal for SUP tours. Access at Steinhude is possible via a ramp, directly at the local surf school. The nearest bus stop is approx. 5 minutes away.

The Steinhuder Meer is Germany's largest inland lake. It covers an area of around 29 square kilometres. There are several surf schools with SUP courses and SUP hire.

From the entry point at Steinhude, you can paddle around the Steinhude bathing island, where there are wide sandy beaches and large meadow areas to relax on, and it is a short tour that is also really fun for beginners. If you paddle far out with your own SUP, remember that the weather can change quickly on this very large inland lake, especially in spring and autumn.

As large areas of the shoreline and water areas at Steinhuder Meer are protected, it is best to find out about the current regulations on site.
